Personal Information:
Dave and Eva have five children and five grandchildren. They
reside in Butte, Montana, where Dave supervises computer application
programmers for NorthWestern Energy and Eva is an Oncology
Nurse at Hematology Oncology Centers of the Northwest. Dave
graduated from Carroll College in 1977 with a degree in Social
Sciences and a minor in Mathematics. Eva has completed a master's
program at Gonzaga University, Spokane, Washington, attaining
her dream of becoming a Nurse Practitioner. Eva also has a
Diamond Level One Hixson and is a member of the Tombstone
Kiwanis Club of Virginia City, Montana.
 In
1999 their youngest sons, Chris and Russ Curry, each raised
over $1,000 for the IDD effort and were subsequently awarded
membership in the George F. Hixson Fellowship. In addition
to both being involved in multiple sports, Russ is a member
of the Butte Central student council, while Chris is a member
of the Butte Central Key Club and served the Key Club District
Board in the position of District Bulletin Editor for the
2004-2005 year.
Community Service:
Dave has been involved in serving his community since his
early twenties, when he was a leader in charismatic prayer
group and involved in the Montana Low and Moderate Income
Coalition, the Helena Child Advisory Board and Montanan's
in Action for People. Since that time, he has been a community
leader in all of the following:
- Boy Scouts - Scout Master
- Little League Assistant Coach
- T-Ball Coach
- Basketball Coach
- Junior Achievement
- The Butte Literacy Board
- Salvation Army Board
- Chairperson of the Butte-Silver Bow Planning Board
- An elected representative on the Butte-Silver Bow Council
of Commissioners (also chairing the Budget and Finance Committee)
- Involved as a leader in the following church programs:
- Cursillo Movement
- Charismatic Prayer Group
- Confirmation Program
- Non-Denominational Bible Study (for 23 years)
Community Awards:
Because of these and many other efforts, Dave received the
prestigious "Meritorious Service Award" from the
Butte Pachyderm Club in 2000 for his community efforts. In
the summer of 2003, Dave was inducted into the Butte Sports
Hall of Fame as a member of the Butte Central State Champion
1972 Cross Country team.
Other Interests: An active walker, Dave also enjoys photography,
skiing, and camping.
